    I didn't read the whole article, but where I live there's one cable company with a monopoly. Suddenlink (part of Cox Communications I think) is average quality cable at premium quality prices, and they know there's no other game in town. Sad.

    Staten Island's only cable company is so bad that homeowners get dishes.put on their roof.
    You would think the dishes were reproducing there are so many of them.
    Verizon FIOS has also taken a lot of Time Warner's business. I am quite sure that if a referendum vote was taken; a new cable company would be overwhelmingly chosen.

    It is one of the good things about living in the UK. There is so much competition for your internet business that broadband prices are generally quite low while quality is generally quite high. It's not perfect but reading this thread makes me appreciate it a whole lot more.

    To look on the positive; it seems that for you guys it is getting to the point where the only way is up!
