I mostly agree, but I'm not so sure about the whole sexual offender registry. I think definitions should be rewritten (per an example given, it would take one dope of a judge to say peeing on the sidewalk is a sexual offense). But because of the nature of the incident, it's pretty rare that the victims would be able to get over it. I say this because specifically three very close (female) friends of mine have not had a decent night's sleep in over ten years because of their problems. Those who do commit the crimes should be punished in a way they will not get over so easily as well.

One of my ex-coworkers is listed there because he's defaulted on all his child support responsibilities.

Also, I've looked a bunch of the guys that have been convicted as a result of Dateline NBC's "To Catch a Predator" series. I have yet to find one of them there.

Agreed, the definitions should be rewritten. As is, the whole thing sucks.

I looked up the offenders in my neighborhood, and most of them don't even show a reason why they're listed.
