it'll have a longer up time by tomorrow though...updating a ton of stuff in gentoo, so it's not turning off anytime soon.

mine stays on for about 15-30 mins at a time.
time enough for me to play some same gnome between naps durring the day and at night.
my boxes are in my bed room too but i plan on wiring the house with cat5 so i can have one server up all the time and remote manage it from my room.

The only way my pc's uptime survives the night is if I start downloading or updating something and fall asleep in the process. I also switch between Linux and Windows a lot.

Ummm... Actually, I just rebooted because I had to make some changes, so my uptime appears to be the shortest at 13:30:00 up 20 min, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.02 :P

If I didnt reboot (new distros, new kernels, kernel problems etc) as often as I did my uptime would probably be over 2 months.
slackbox:~$ uptime

My workstation is at 16 days, but my OBSD firewall is at 81 days - since I installed it actually. Does this count??

If I had never had any problems with my Linux box and my computer had upgraded itself using hot-swapping components, I would have uptime of over 3 years!!!

hehe, i dont think i could ever hold up time, one I used my computer too much for used ram, unless linux frees up ram automatically, i dunno, but besides that my dad hates my computer to be on, he killed my last hard drive cuz he shut down my computer inproperly. -_-" and another thing is that i have capped net on upload and download, so i cant really hold up a server til i get a better ISP. I NEED A DAMN JOB!
* spyro_boy pays tuxxman to smash keyboard over spyro_boy.
yeah anyway, untill i can get net on my slack i wont be able to do uptime
but ill keep it in mind and come back when i can.
ok, theres my two cents and excuse.
and I also hold the record for lowest uptime
ZERO!
