Why Linux magazine is so expensive? (£7)
- 05-20-2009 #2
Doesn't it come with a DVD or something? Packing those in with every print magazine can't be cheap. I just assumed the reason they're expensive over here (USA) is that they're imported.

Yeah you may be right but DVD's are not always included. I think is the kind of magazine that the company buys and then everyone can read it.
I hope they reduce the price a bit.

I stopped buying linux magazines because:
1. The DVD is almost always outdated
2. I can gather the information I need by surfing the web
I do have a collection of Linux magazines that are equivalent to porn to me and I still peruse them from time to time...-D-

I was a long time buyer of Linux Format but I gave up after I got broadband. I had intended to continue buying it but I just found all of the news was at least a month old and the CDs/DVDs began to be remastered or customised to fit together. This frequently left me without certain packages. Once I started depending on package managers with online repositories this all seemed redundant.
It's still a good magazine but I think I'd be buying it to support them, not for my own benefit.
