ok, I brought out my notebook last night, that still has vista on it...havnt used it in 3 months, even though it is 4 years newer than my linux box, I was going to burn an iso puppy linux and put it on another partition on that computer....the horror of windows reared its ugly head... one click of the mouse on the d.v.d burning software and POOF! firefox disappeared from the computer, gone, no trace of it...ironic when you consider how hard it is to unistall most windows software. I had many more odd occurrences, before i just put the notebook back in cobweds, after i finish my latest video I'm editing, vista will go bye bye, fore ever!

Vista lasted a couple of weeks less than the hardware warranty on my laptop (actually it was probably a couple of months) ... put a proper OS on and use it again ... Windows 2k in a VM runs better than Vista did directly using the hardware .

Only thing worth saving is the authentication info incase you need to put the thing back on for some reason ... after that create a restore CD and let if gather dust instead of the PC
