    Ext4 not 100% yet?

A couple days ago a short piece about Ext4 wierdness, entitled Is ext4 Stable For Production Systems? was posted on Slashdot. The article talks briefly about incompatibilities between Ext4 and KDE4. Since I don't use KDE 4, I thought it wouldn't apply to me. But now I'm starting to wonder. I upgraded from I. Ibex to Jaunty Jackalope on one of my spare drives. Wierdness has ensued. It may be related to upgrading as opposed to doing a clean install, but I'm not 100% convinced. I'm getting random shutdown of programs -most noteably Firefox. And I've had to remove and reinstall a couple apps because files were missing or corrupted. I'm relatively confident it's not originating outside of my rig.

To be safe, when FC11 is released next week I'm doing a fresh install and selecting Ext3.

Has anyone here experienced anything like this, especially after installing a distro with Gnome and Ext4?

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I've been running ext4 since kernel 2.26.28 made it into the Arch repos without a problem. I think that would have been what, January '09?

3 for 3... with no wierdness. Maybe it was the upgrade process that brought this on. I guess I should have gone with my first instinct. Oh well. Thanks for the responses.
