New to Linux, in an HP mini
Well,
Hello everybody,
I am a mac guy, user really, I don't do anything complicated, they have treated me really well.
I was shopping for a netbook to take on the road and have something cheap to destroy instead of my macbook and ended up buying the only non windows netbook I could find. A Hp mini 1110NR. I severely dislike windows and don't feel like supporting their poor attempts at an operating system.
I understand my new netbook has Ubuntu on it but it seems like HP has locked out the desktop with their own software. I am curious about setting this thing free to the whole control of linux and getting the HP "virus" out of this thing. I like it so far and it seems to be working well, I may just leave it alone as I am one of those computer users that know just enough to be dangerous.
That's my 2 cents, I will be reading lots on here to make the most out of my new unit.
Thanks for the wonderful resource and have a great day.

Welcome. There are quite a few people with netbooks here, so you should be able to gather information.
