What's dating really mean ? (I'm 100% honest when i asked this question ) Sometimes while watching movies, I come across this - but never really understood it. Is it refer to love between two or a friendship that might turn as love?

Yes,I can search for google about it,though I would like to hear from "experienced" guyz

Heheh, don't worry. Dating is what you thought it was. But *ehm* maybe this explains it better:

There are three possible parts to a date, of which at least two must be
offered: entertainment, food, and affection.  It is customary to begin
a series of dates with a great deal of entertainment, a moderate amount
of food, and the merest suggestion of affection.  As the amount of
affection increases, the entertainment can be reduced proportionately.
When the affection IS the entertainment, we no longer call it dating.

Thanks Freston,Hal343 for your Enlightenment on dating If one agrees for dating,that shows both are attracted to each other,So it is safe to say mostly dating,ends with wedding.

It will be easier to define courting, it means about the same thing. Basically it can be summed up by saying, dating is a series of meetings between two people for the purpose of getting to know each other and to discover each others likes and dislikes, usually with marriage in mind.

(Emphasis mine.) Of course, here in the US among the 20-30 year old crowd marriage isn't often the ultimate goal. It was for me, but among my age group it was more popular to "date" and have either noncommittal one-night-stands or long-term boyfriend/girlfriend relationships (sometimes even have children) than to actually tie the knot.

I can't tell you how many times a date went sour when I realized my date was only interested in the party scene. One of the things I discussed on my first date with my wife was my desire to ultimately get married. Thankfully, we shared the same views on that so the dating continued.
