[SOLVED] Making new Distro ...
Hello everyone,
I switched to Linux so that I can make my own distro, I've read in the internet that 'Ubuntu' Distro is based on 'Debian', 'Fedora' is based on 'RedHat' , etc..
My question is: If I want to make a 'Ubuntu-based Distro', how should I start?? Can I start by modifying my installed ubuntu in the way I want the distro to be or this is not the right way to start making a distro??

You might want to make a run through Linux From Scratch so that you'll have a better idea about what you are doing as you work to create your own distro.
Rock Linux is another option that might help you to learn what you'd need to know to be successful with your project.oz

LinuxCOE is another esource you might want to look at. Another built on top of that is Instalinux - Install Linux the Easy Way. If you make it available to others, don't forget to include source code to comply with GPL.

If you just want to modify a distro, so it will include some programs you want and the artwork of your choice, you can use tools like reconstructor. Reconstructor will allow you to do this for Ubuntu. Revisor for Fedora. Other distros have similar tools. Making a completely different distribution will require you to build a community around it and/or have quite a few resources at your disposal. And to my way of thinking you will probably end up re-inventing the wheel...I would go for reconstructor, revisor or something similar, but it is your choice.

Thank you all for your useful answers, I think I'm going to use Reconstructor right now, maybe I will try re-inventing the wheel some day in the future (when I become a Linux expert
).
