    newbie from africa sitting on a lean, mean fedora 9 beast!!!

    hey guys!!it feels fantastic to finally be using linux!i keep asking askin myself why i hadnt done it ages ago!!am loving it but its bitter sweet coz i havnt got a clue as to what im doing half the time but i love a good challenge!and linux is one of those to me right now!i sure hope the resources on this site will give me enough arsenal to battle my way to being a linux guru!! i jus recently installed fedora 9 at my work place and am lookin to use it as a web,proxy n email server and im rearing to go!!!look forward to communicating with y'all pretty soon.its difficult to be the freshman but hey...someone's gotta do it right!! ciao!

    Welcome to the site. With linux, you can break your OS and learn to repair it, if you're will to persevere through the difficulties. Breaking the OS is a learning experience. I learned not to poke around as root when I don't have any guidance.

    Check out the tutorials on site at Linux Tutorials, HOWTO's & Reference Material - Linux Forums as your first resource, and any problems they don't answer can be dealt with in the forums.

    Welcome.

    Just wanted to say also try out some other distro's when ya get a chance, since they do things a little differently and you will end up learning more good stuff.
