Use a good password? I believe most attacks these days come through social engineering, I don't remember anything recently about people breaking into it using brute force.

As Roxoff said. The password is crucial. My suggestion would be to make sure payment has cleared also before mailing.

Is you have a good password its very hard to crack 'it with Brute Force but not impossbile.

But thats your only way of securing your account and olso not to answear or click on links you receve by e-mail... i never click them eaven if it says that paypal was the sender your never know. connect to the site and ask them if its a real email send by them.

I had my paypal accessed by a third party and it became limited to the point where I couldnt do anything. After weeks and months of calling and emailing them to unrestrict my account I gave in and simply set up a new one with a different email and it works fine.

Still though they are idiots there sometimes.

Its quite scary how easily some people could be suckered into giving away their details. I received an email supposedly from paypal that really looked the part. Had all their branding and even had all their legal fine print at the bottom of the message. They gave me a fairly convincing story about needing to review their security systems and provided a link to a login screen. This also looked quite convincing. Luckily though my emails built-in phishing scam blocker kicked in just in time! Not sure how they did end up hacking my account. Apparently your full name and date of birth are all some skilled hackers require to wreak havoc.

Agreed. Especially you should never click on the un-subscribe links in spam emails as you will be added to a genuine and stupid* list

I always forward these, complete with headers, to spoof@paypal.com. That gives them a chance to close down the scam site. For ebay, there's spoof@ebay.com, and for regular banks banksafeonline. Don't just delete it; report it.
