    I don't know anything about that part of the world.
    But if you just want to know how to handle a linux computer you can try it out (e.g. with liveCDs) and post your questions here.

    I know there are a lot of tech companies in Chennai that use Linux and/or Unix, including Applied Materials (AMAT) software division (formerly Brooks Automation). I'm sure that there are training/education resources there at the universities or technical schools. As to which, I really don't know off-hand.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

    i would lik to know about both about kernel prog as well as application prog.... but i am more interested in the later....
