    I'm not sure what you really mean.
    I just installed postgresql version 8.3 on FC11.
    I didn't know there are different types of SQL.

    mysql, postgresql, mssql, oracle sql, these are the major types

    Have a look at Knoda (KDE) or Mergeant (Gnome). They are both capable of connecting to several backends. Alternatively you can use Open Office Base to connect using the PostgreSQL driver, as you would with MS Access to a SQL backend.
