Hello Everyone! (Konnichiwa Minnasan)
Hi there everyone, you can call me Nem.
I'm studying Information technology and this semester we are having Unix. So just to practice the commands, I installed Ubuntu (<<< got this form a Computer Magazine)
Before entering the world of IT, Linux, to me, was just some 'runner up' OS next to Windows that no one uses. But this sem when I checked out the OS and realized its potential, I felt enlightened! Never in my (tiny) life could I imagine that an OS could be CUSTOMIZED!!! My attitude towards Linux was changed. In a few months, I plan on buying a notebook; I've decided that I'm gonna run it on Linux, so I've installed Ubuntu on my desktop and getting used to it. So when I'll get my notebook, I'll be working on it like a normal human being.
As far as other things are concerned, I'm learning Japanese at the moment and plan on getting my Bachelor's Majors in Computer Networks (that's be next year though).

Isn't it wonderful!? I had no idea either how far Linux has come. And to be able to customize it to such an amazing degree is amazing. Linux can be just about anything you want it to be!

welcome. I find that Windows is the second-rate OS, because of all the extra crap needed to keep it running. I think I have a couple of older computers running Win 98 around, but when I get time to play with them, they will be linux-only, like my two main ones.
