Hello
Just wanted to say hi to everyone. New to this forum and Linux (so please be patient with me). My kids got these laptops for Christmas at a great deal, but they have linux OS. I'm more familiar with windows; probably like most people, but I would only consider myself a novice. So far it has been really frustrating trying to do anything with these laptops, but hopefully with this forum I'll start to understand more about this OS.
Thanks for listening.

Howdy and Welcome. I'd corral the kids into showing me also.

Sometimes little kids come by this stuff almost intuitively! Do you know which Linux is on their laptops? There's probably a support forum for it right here on this site, too!
Enjoy!

I'm not sure. It looks like linux i686. I should probably try to take a course on this OS at a local community college.

Welcome to the forums!

It takes a while to get a grasp of the differences between Linux and Windows, but I hope Linux works out well for you.oz

Thanks OZ.
I hope so too. Right now it all seems pretty overwhelming.

Welcome. Once you get used to linux, it seems limiting (for me, anyway) to go back to Windows. It will take some patience and persistence to learn, but it will be good experience regardless of your final decision.
