    Wink Hello Everyone

I'm new on here as of 18 minutes ago. Nickname is Gats. I am a retired Canadian Firefighter. Put in almost thirty years... to end up as Chief of Communications and Education at our local Fire Department here in Guelph Ontario. Title only looked important on my parking space sign.
I'm looking forward to forums and exchange of info. Hope you will chat when you have time.
I'm certainly not a computer geek although perhaps being that would do me good. I do know I have lots of room for improvement on using Linux... but then again... I have lots of spare time.
My main interests now lie with my watercolor paintings, and carving art. For the retired me; every day is Saturday.

Welcome. Most of us have lots of room for improvement on linux. It runs on almost anything, can use most programming languages, has shell scripting that boggles the mind, and in general does so much that not very many people know it all. We just share what we know to help others.

Gats, Welcome to Linux. I'm also a newbie to it, but enjoying it more by the day. The people in the Forums seem to be very friendly, and very helpful.
