    Happy Birthday to U...NIX!!!

Today is an auspicious day in the world of computing. This marks the 40th birthday of the UNIX operating system. 40 years... that's an eternity in the digital domain. UNIX, the forebear of our OS is not only alive, but its still relevant. Can't say the same for DOS or the dozens of other dead and gone OS'es that litter the digital landscape. So UNIX... here's to you! (*hoists virtual mug of draught in salutory fashion*)

    Here's wishing you another 40!

Interesting... it's certainly much older than many of its users!

My first personal Unix box I got about 25 years ago. Never had a PDP-8 though...

It's a little late but happy birthday to Unix.

Although i do believe that it's slowly dying and being replaced by an obscure, weird little system called Linux. Don't know if any of you has ever heard of it.

Yeah. I think some friend of Charlie Brown is working on it - Linus Something. Say, isn't he the guy with the blanket?
