I too fell for sudo rm -rf / . But only once!

I have an impressive collection of geeky t-shirts and I think the one that says
    Code:
    chown -R us ./base
is the funniest thing ever and closely followed in the hilarity stakes by
    Code:
    apt-get install a life
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

    • I am at work related training Camp and because of that, I haven't used any Linux distro for last one month. Posting from Windows XP machine. I am missing Linux a lot.
    • Wiped harddisk because of really simple GRUB Problem and lost precious data. I didn't know much about Linux that time.
    • Windows OS is still installed in my home machine. ( multi booting )
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Are you aware of the images you just created? In England, your 'pants' are your underwear... y-fronts... jockey shorts... I don't feel very well...

Sorry, Casper, but I don't believe there was ever a time you didn't know much about Linux.

In the US (at least where I'm from) that's called going commando, and no, I wasn't aware of that. Haha. I think we also have different words for those little zippered pouches you strap to your midsection. The US calls them "fanny packs," but I think that's a dirty expression in Britain.

So what do you wacky Brits call the things that go on OVER your "pants"? Trousers? Slacks?

They're called trousers. A fanny doesn't mean your bottom in Blighty. Trying to keep the forums a family place think more towards the front, on a woman. You guys also spell colour wrong but we try to not correct you because we all think the way you spell it is funny :P

Oh, Roxoff, I notice your from Nottingham. I'm moving up to Beeston next month!

It's becoming a losing battle but many of us "dyed-in-the-wool" Southerners still insist on using Oxford standard spelling as generations before us did. We share many of the same spellings... theatre, organise, honour etc.

Two of those are true, and one is not. Happy guessing.
One of the above is true for me!

I use a lot of proprietary stuff - flash, nvidia drivers, broadcom STA driver, media codecs.

I fell for sudo rm -rf / once when I was new.
/me Guilty of all the above. Except the rm -rf part, I read that in a book a long time ago and I was prepared for people to try that on me.

Amen bro, I spell it like I was taught. No amount of foolishness or pointing your fingers at me will get me to change. I'm proud of my bad grammar.

    EDIT: another revelation!
I'm getting sick of Gentoo, always one thing or another that gets completely screwed up, forcing me to use another OS to fix it.
