Senior Project suggestions/ideas
Hey everybody,
I'm pretty new to this forum but this seems like a good place to ask. I am a undergraduate senior majoring in CS, and I want to do a senior project. I would greatly appreciate some input from people in the field. I have seen other posts on this forum and elsewhere dealing with the subject, but nothing was terribly helpful thus far.
I would like to do something involving the linux kernel, preferably something that forces me to learn a lot about different parts of the kernel. I have until May 2010 to finish it, so it can be a fairly good sized project I suppose. I am proficient in C and have studied parts of the kernel before, though nothing very in depth.
The areas I most want to explore are: Networking, device drivers/io, multi-threading, and possibly file systems.
The project doesn't have to be anything particularly original, just as long as it is a challenging project that would be feasible for an undergraduate to do.
I would greatly appreciate any help in getting some ideas for a project. Many thanks in advance.
