Help me pick my Project
Hello
I need to make a Security Project for Linux. It has to do with a conference I will be attending.
I got two Basic Ideas and I wonder what would you like to see.
Therefor I got to ask you, please don't vote if you don't understand this or do not understand Security as is.
I got two projects in line and I only got time to finish one.
The first project I got is called Liss and that stands for Linux Internet Security System.
For this I got the PoC almost done. This project is a Kernel Module that allows you to load Security Modules in it. This allows people to write special modules with C that are loaded in the Kernel without knowing to much of the Linux Kernel. And they have a Special API that allows them to simply hook into my Kernel Module that handles stuff like when somebody accesses a FS or a Socket. Next from that a Module has a special GUI part. The client app (a user that is in the Group for Security) can get these Kernel Signals and paint a GUI and configure it from there.. Allowing easy access to different GUIs. (including NCurses)
The Resp. I got till now: aren't you reinventing SElinux ?
Well NO, as I will not implement ANY module by default. Every Security Module has to be installed with it. Therefor there will not be MAC by default (however I think I do not 100% get/know SELinux)
The second Project is called HiBR this is a project a friend of mine came with.
HiBR stands for Husk with Birth Rights.
And basically its a ACL Based Sandbox for Linux apps.
The ACL will control what librarys are allowed to be called etc. This app will be running in UserSpace.
So, What Project do you think will be the best to show at the Conference?
Thanks in advance.

Which ever one you feel most passionate about and believe in more strongly.
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
