Hello,
I have learned so much of Linux in the past 6 months as a member of this forum than in the last 6 years of using a linux distro in my pc. I use to run to a friend to have things fixed every time I would encounter troubles. But in the past six months, I was able to solve quite a lot of issues with the help of our colleages.
I consider this 1st year of my linux life as a sort of kindergarten days. That's why, I try to have experiences with as much distro as I can put my hands on. You see, I am trying to visioneer my future seeing myself making a clean good livelihood with linux in say maybe 5 years from now. I have started to look around for online courses on how to operate/administer a linux server. And by next year, hopefully I can start to join a class.
Now here are some things that I need to be cleared from anybody who can give words of advise:
1) What would be a good course to take for starters?
2) Any particular online school in mind?
3) Or does anybody in this forum teach online and if so, how much would it cost?
4) What kind of job can I expect to get after I finish a course? Or should I say if and when I become a "Certified Linux" something.
5) Are the opportunities and potentials worth my time and money?
If there are other facts that you feel I should know, I would appreciate if you can also share so I can include in my visioneering.
Thanks for listening, cheers!

There's a few good Linux certifications out there and they look damn good on a resume since alot of even VERY tech enabled admins won't touch it. I would get into online classes or a nearby campus that offer classes that prepare you for a certification, that way you have something to show afterwards. As far as a job? Well there's lots of them. Server Administrator, Linux Engineer, Linux Applied Technician etc The certification won't GET you the job but based on it and possibly other criteria (schooling, degree etc) will push you up on there list of applicants. As far as if its worth your money ? YES, proven fact that people administrating Linux Systems usually make more and are more valuable than the one's who administer Windows Systems, and i don't think thats going to change. As far as where to go? Just look around, google is your friend, but make sure you do alot of research and find out what might suit and what classes will show more accreditation to potentential employers.
