I received my first donation !!!
Last week I received my first donation(50USD - which is almost 10% of my salary ) for my oss projects
from Support open source .If you know any open source projects needs support,you can check with them.
yes,some of friends ask,why would a guy earning (500USB/month) need donations? my answer would be,I have avoided/sacrified few professional stuffs (like promotion/payhike etc) for my open source activities. So I would take these as reward/compensation from my oss community for my effort!!!
Other than this,I have received 25000-RS (that's almost a month salary) for FOSS awards (when i received this my teammate said ,"consider it as your compensation for your last years appraisal") and 10$ from sourceforge for taking part in some survey
