    The birth of Linuxforums.org

I think some of this might have been posted in the past, but for anyone that hasn't seen it and is interested, here's our baby picture of what LinuxForums.org looked like at birth (note that some graphics are missing):

    LinuxForums.org Forums - Forum Index

By May 2002, it had already taken on a more developed but still very young look:

    LinuxForums.org :: Index

It didn't change much until Feb 2004 when it grew a front page:

Linux Forum :: Home - Linux Help, Support, Tutorials and lots of HOWTOs

You should be able to click on some of the links on these old pages to see what other parts of the site looked like way back when.

It was early December of 2005.

Here's the link to all the archived shots of the various stages as it progressed along the way:

Oh MAN!!! We had Windows 2000/NT server forum?!? How awful that must have been for those poor forum moderators! I am glad I never had to deal with that.
    Very Cool ozar!

    WOW!

I wanted to really know more about this community since I have become quite active. These infos really made me understand it in a more personal way. Thank you Ozar, and to the others! I wonder how this forums would be looking like in 5 years?

I predict that they will finally give up the facade of a support forum and utilize the remaining 35x94 pixels of non-advertising content to sell something else to us.

    Just my guess, of course.
    Aloof linux user #whatever.

I tested off the charts for MENSA. Unfortunately, it was off the wrong end of the chart.

Why is there a front page delaying people from getting to the forum on a site entitled LinuxForums.org? The concept has always eluded me.

Wow, this site came a long way before I came here. Here's to progress!

Probably for the same reasons that schwim was ranting about....Advertisements that pay for the site and it's operating costs.
