As Linux users you gentlemen are already quite computer proficient and able to protect your computers no matter what operating system you are using.

However 99% of the people I personally deal with on Staten Island know about as much as I do about computers; which is next to nothing. We are the people whose computers get viruses, trogans, malware, etc. from using windows os.

These people are still spending a fortune getting their hard drives regularly reformatted because they keep having windows re-installed onto their computers.

I am happy that there are people that do not have any problems keeping their computers virus free while using windows on the Internet; but my heart still bleeds for the folks that refuse to check Linux out at all and keep suffering!!

I tested off the charts for MENSA. Unfortunately, it was off the wrong end of the chart.

Here, here! I can only speak for myself but I never felt safe using Windows on the net. No, I never actually got a virus infection - I used AVG - but I never felt safe. And I do feel safe using Linux.

I would say that I feel safer using Linux to surf the Internet. I am enough of a realist to know that my choice of operating system isn't invulnerable. However the architecture is less prone to the problems and when vulnerabilities are found they are patched pretty darned quickly.

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.
