I wonder when will it be possible to have flexible KDE again? I don't see, how could I again just place a video-DVD into tray, press the button, lean back and enjoy the automatically playing movie. That's what I miss from KDE 3.5.8, and I miss it badly!
I see some kind of device manager's settings in control center, but it's on Vulcan language. I'm familiar with logics, but I just don't know why should it be so much overcomplicated?If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:

... just one more reason for me to stick with KDE3.5.

At least, I've found out how can I change the appearing options in device manager-applet:
The offered options are kept in the folder /usr/share/kde4/apps/solid/actions folder.
There are a number of .desktop files, which are looking like:
[Desktop Entry]
X-KDE-Solid-Predicate=[ StorageVolume.ignored == false AND OpticalDisc.availableContent == 'Data|VideoDvd' ]
Type=Service
Actions=open;
[Desktop Action open]
Name=Play DVD with Smplayer
Exec=smplayer dvd://1
Icon=smplayer
That's how I managed to create an entry for Smplayer. Still, I cannot override the device manager, and make it fully automated.If you need a CD/DVD catalogizer, give a try to my program:
