The roaches eat a man story was one of several in the 1982 movie, Creepshow:

    Creepshow (1982)

The story that you refer to is the final story in the movie, They're Creeping Up on You!

Edit: Just guessing this might be the one, if it wasn't the movie suggested above by Dapper Dan.

Here in the Southeast we have a roach we quaintly refer to as the "Palmetto bug." They grow to huge sizes but never reproduce in your house. They are what pest control experts refer to as a "seasonal invader." They climb under the door and wait for their opportunity to forage while you're asleep. If you're unlucky enough not to notice their stealthy invasion, they climb up the walls waiting for their chance... When you least expect it, they fly down into your face, and go for your jugular.

Okay... I'm exaggerating about going for the jugular but they DO glide from the walls into your face when you least expect it!

None of the above... The movie is a post-nuclear war movie where the only animals left were roaches and scorpions (giant scorpions)... I have been googling this for a long time...

Don't think they killed him, but they made his life a living hell in "Joe's Apartment"

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

They're in Texas too. Awesome article, by the way. Mirrors my own personal experiences with them.
