    Jailing RCM50

    This is a standard 50 cc engine with an automatic CVT and a no-limit CDI.

    After correcting for a speedometer error (I swear they use the same parts as for the higher powered/larger wheeled scooters*), I topped out at about 55 MPH down hill, averaging about 40 - 45 MPH for a trip with one rider, about 35 MPH average for two riders.

    *This scooter has the 10" rims. The speedometer would be correct if the wheel was about 2 3/4" larger diameter... the size they put on 150 cc and larger.

    !980 XLS 1200 CC Iron Head with Andrews Gears in Tranny, with Hot Cams, and Edelbrock carb does 120mph on 80 mph Texas Freeway.

    2001 883 Custom Hugger I cruise at 80 mph on 80mph freeway Texas.

    Custom built softail (by me) 74 Cubic Inch Shovelhead with Jockey shift 4 speed cruises at 80 mph on Freeway but I have had it at 110 mph.

    Wifes bike (I built it to) 1984 XLS 1000 with S&S 40 mm carb. I have had it up to 105mph but she won't take it or 80 mph.

    1984 FXR with 88 cubic inch Evo motor with 5 speed set up with Hot cams and tranny gears I have had up to 136 mph on freeway.

    55 MPH( ~ 90KMPH) , 40MPH (~ 65KPH) D-cat , your speed is obviously higher than mine.

    Naw. Out here in the West Texas Desert it is hours of driving to get anywhere. Hence the 80 MPH speed Limit on the freeways and 70 MPH on 2 Lane roads. I was just posting the top speed I had my bikes up to. I usually cruise between 70 MPH and 80 MPH. I have road with the Hells Angels out of Phoenix, AZ, (Cave Creek), as a TagaLong and the Bandidos in Texas and they cruise at 100MPH on road trips. Been riding scooters since the 1970's. Aint my first rodeo. Takes all kinds to run Linux I guess.

    A good spark plug and the no-limit CDI make a real difference (a stock CDI would limit me to about your speeds). It also hits the gas milage though.. Stock is over 100 mpg (42 Km/L), WOT w/ NLCDI is 80 MPG (34 Km/L).
    Edit:
    of if you prefer L/100Km:
    Stock = 2.35
    NLCDI= 2.94
