    Add-art?

Just curious how many here are using the "Add-Art" add-on for Firefox. I've not seen anyone mention it. It's definitely not a must-have, but if you use AdBlock Plus, and if you spend more than 5 minutes on the web, it can make for a more pleasant experience. For those who haven't tried it, it essentially replaces those ugly placeholders left by AdBlock. Btw... anyone stumble across any other worthwhile add-ons for Firefox they'd care to put me up on?

Part of my reason for using adblock (together with noscript) on some computers is bandwidth preservation (especially when on dial-up locations). Does this add-on pull art from the net or off your own computer?

Sorry, I'm not really researching it here... got other things on my mind, but it does sound like an interesting concept.

I use element hiding helper for ABP. On sites that I frequent, I use it to remove divs and tables that hold the advertisements. It removes whole side panes, allowing the remaining content spread out and gets rid of the huge areas at the top of a page that require you to scroll to get to the content. Personally, I would rather get rid of the placeholder than put a piece of art in it.
    Aloof linux user #whatever.

I tested off the charts for MENSA. Unfortunately, it was off the wrong end of the chart.

I don't think I could stand to do the Internet at all without Adblock Plus and Element Hiding Helper!

Same with me. Those two addons are the sole reason I won't use another browser. I carry a usb install of Firefox with those addons on a USB stick in my backpack when I travel so I can have it regardless of the computer I'm using.

I use AdBlock with the ElementHider extension. It removes the blocked elements instead of just replacing them. So you can get the full screen without any useless info narrowing the view.

It notifies you periodically when new artwork is available. You have the option to download the new art or stay with the art from the previous d/l. So the only drag on your bandwidth is a 10second d/l when you opt for new art. The content spans several genres, from poster art to subversive comix, to medical slides, to copies of masterpieces, modern art, etc., etc., ad infinitum... ad nauseum...

I may give that a try. I'm all for more page space.
