i need a new laptop. any suggestions?

hi i am looking for a new laptop. i want to spend at the most $800 on it. and i would prefer to have the computer screen be from 12-15''. what i would like to do with it is play games and of course to be able to run my beloved arch linux. so im looking for one that has a decent video card(mid-range), have supported hardware for linux, and dependable. do any of you know of a computer like this?

Well, I always advocate buying from place that sell laptops with linux.

thanks for the reply. however these laptops are a bit expensive compared to others that have much better hardware for around the same price.

In that price range new you're going to limited to netbooks from Acer and HP. I have occasionally seen some deals online from no-name companies, but have been skeptical of them.

If you're willing to buy used, you can probably find a good laptop/notebook at a local computer shop. The only problem I've found consistently buying used is battery life is approaching the end of its usefulness. Otherwise the local computer shops are usually concerned enough about their reputation to offer a small warranty of some sort on the hardware.
