How about some more info so we don't have to click on random links with no explanation?

The point of the web server is for the web-based configuration utility. The idea is that you can pull into the garage, connect the the bike over the wifi connection with your laptop, and use any web browser to view the stats and make performance modifications.

I wonder what kind of new age cheating could develop from this? (like hacking your opponents bike while he's on it and resetting the max speed to, oh, 25 MPH... ? )

Seriously though, this is a cool developing technology.

Random? Look up the word in a dictionary: you will see it's not.
FYI
Most vehicles now days have onboard computers (like no one knew this right?)
But this bike is designed to compete in grand prix races so dashboard info (rpm[pun], speed and other sensor data) are wifi into the team's webserver.

Asking price 41000$..Not bad for a computer that beats the pants off Apple in terms of design.

I like the hack idea..Linux being the natural choice to counter that very tactic.

Neat idea. Lots of money though for only 40 mile range which won't work in my neck of the woods. It will be nice when battery technology gets to the point where you can travel on one of these for a day without a recharge and the price is less than a house. I guess points and condenser and a Netbook is all I can afford at the present time. Look foward to a updated cheaper version though. Till then I'll run outdated equipment that takes me where I want to go at a price I can afford.
