It looks like an interesting project. Hopefully Canonical will pay more developers to work on Kubuntu alongside volunteers.

very interesting. After reading it there is definitely one thing that stands out...some bugs have been around for just too bloody long and they should be taken care of to get them off the list. I like gnome quite a bit more than KDE but, if these changes come to be, I may re-evaluate

I've never cared for KDE either, but it had nothing to do with Kubuntu or any distro. I must say, though, KDE4 is really coming along. I think by KDE 4.5, it may tempt me. The only thing stopping me from using it on a regular basis now is that it's too bloody slow. I can't stand waiting 1 or 2 seconds for a frickin file manager to open. After using openbox and pekwm for awhile now, anything slower than them gets on my nerves.
