Help with my new box.
Hey guys I am working on my new system.
And I could use some help on this.
This system will be put in my really tiny room. And thus I really want a HTPC for is so I dont have a Tower anymore..
Anywho, using this system I'd mostly run Arch Linux with about 2 VMWare Boxes turned on. I'll write a lot of code using this box and watch HD-Movies.. Not much Hi-Performance gaming here.. I currently got a NVIDIA GForce 9400GT So I am going to keep that one in here.. And I really want an i5.. Dont know why but I want it.
So I made this build:
EN9400GT/DI/512MD2(LP) (NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT)
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD4
i5 750 (Intel® P55)
TL-WN951N 300M (Linksys BGN-Wifi)
WD10EADS (1TB Western Digital)
Crosshair 4 GB DDR3-1333 Kit
SD200 VK72721N2E (Thermaltake) ( Thermaltake Global > Product > Chassis > Desktop > SD200 > VK72721N2E )
Sony Optiarc DRX-S70U-W (DVD-reWriters Extern)
Cost: Min: € 648. Max: € 811. Avg: € 729.
As you see, its not cheap and I want to get slightly cheaper. But I'd need some advice. I already decided to get the Sony Optiarc later. As its not required to setup the system. The 1TB HDD is not something I'd pick normally. I'd rather have 500GB 2x But that would never fit with in the SD200 Case (I love that thing)
But, I dont have a clue how much Power I'd require in this box. Nor am I 100% sure if It would fit in the SD200.
So, any advice / tips or anything would be great =)
Thanks.

I'd use this to calculate power supply required.

Thanks =)..
I did fill it in with WAY to high stuff. 100% System Usage. The i7 upgrade 4Sticks of RAM etc... everything 100% used and I get to 360 Watt.
Also with 10% of aging.. if I go to something more reel I got to 210 Watt.. So I think 270Watt should be alright

I'd run the calculation on more than one power supply calculator so that you have a second suggested value. Hopefully, they'll both come out with equal or nearly equal values:

My personal take on power supplies is that "mo' is betta'". I have a 750va unit in my workstation. Video cards suck a lot, and I have a 6 slot drive cage + 2 DVD recorders.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

For a regular desktop without high-end graphics, and only 1-2 drives and a single DVD recorder, 450-500 is adequate. Smaller power supplies are only suitable for small form-factor systems w/ 1 CD/DVD drive, 1 HD, and low-end graphics. This chassis is a small form-factor and only supports 2 HD's and 1 CD/DVD internally, so the gating factors here are RAM and the video card. The 9400 GT card is nice, but pay attention to its power requirements, especially in the -12v feed. This is where a lot of power supplies are inadequate and can end up causing problems, including system component burn-out. In any case, I agree that this chassis probably cannot handle a 750va supply, size wise. FYI, the ThermalTake 300W TR2 only supplies 0.3a at -12v. I've frequently had systems that needed 0.5a or better. Also, most of the board manufacturers (such as EVGA) are recommending a 300W power supply for the 9400GT cards.

oh dang I didnt know about some of those things..
Umm add an extra Powersupply -.-' dang..
I have been thinking of using a PCI Hightner ( http://azerty.nl/_azerty/data/produc...46/img/1/G.jpg )
But I havnt got a clue if that would work. Or messup the AirDuct.. Same goes for the fact of how I can get the card out of my box..
I might have to ask one of the hardware people here =P thanks already ^^
