QT or GTK
Hey All,
I am doing a little research on how people use Linux in the Graphical Sense of way.
I for example only use GTK.. I don't like/want to install QT.. I don't miss it however there is maybe one app that I would like. Then I'd prefer to run that app on WINE over installing QT and Polluting my system with it..
I have also heard that people think the same way about GTK.
So Would you kindly answer this Poll for me please =)
How do you prefer it?
(Edit: Its an OpenPoll as I am interested in who Votes what.)

Same, I only use gtk.
The exception being if a friend is having problems with a qt app, I'll install it to try to reproduce the problem... but it's gone soon after.
I also don't use wine, and lately don't use anything that's not native 64bit (like some games).

I prefer QT over GTK, but I don't have any issues on use both. At programming level, I prefer QT too, in my opinion, a much better framework than others.

You haven't found Gweled yet? The graphics aren't as fancy but the game play is the same. But I need WINE Anyway (since of Bejewled...
The QT vs GTK argument had more merit in the past when QT wasn't a purely open library; GTK was legitimately favored. Now that it has been relicensed under (L)GPL, the whole thing is moot. I actually have a preference for QT/KDE, but both libraries are installed and I have a ton of programs written for both frameworks. As long as the programs get along, I see no reason to complain.
If anything should be avoided, it is WINE. I recognize though that it can be a necessary evil to some (or rather the Windoze programs running under it). It is slower and allowing Windows programs to execute in any environment has its own risk factor, especially in terms of "pollution."Last edited by D-cat; 12-01-2009 at 02:34 PM. Reason: adding links

I don't like the word "pollute". I use gtk because the first Linux desktop that I ever used was gnome (which I hated by the way) and I've never used KDE. Also I'm used to gtk for programming. I don't want to install qt as well because I have limited disk space.

No the play is way different
as first off there are no Hyper nor those other exploding Crystals. the Highscore is buggy and the score isnt compatible with my friends
@All,
Thanks for the reactions. I got to say I notice GTK is bigger not much QT Fans. However most of you agree on the fact that using WINE is more evil then mixing QT and GTK
