Sanctuary (television series)
Just wondering if any of you have been watching Sanctuary, the science fiction / fantasy show that airs on the SyFy channel, or the webisodes that came before it was turned into a TV series?
This is Amanda Tapping's relatively new show that she started working on right after her work in Stargate SG-1, and Stargate Atlantis. She's one of the producers of the show as well as the main actor, and most of the other key actors have played in one or more episodes of Stargate along with Tapping. Some of you might recognize one or more of the faces in the photo on the front page of the official Sanctuary website (link above).
The series was just renewed for another season of 20 episodes, so that's great news for fans of the show.
If any of you have seen it, what do you think of it?oz

I think it's a great show although it is a little odd seeing so many Stargate actors in different roles

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I get mixed emotions about the show itself. Sometimes, the episodes leave a lot to be desired and other times they are very good. I like the Helen Magnus character pretty well, but she's so different from Samantha Carter. It sometimes seems like a totally different actor playing the part. Of course, Tapping has said that she did all she could to make sure there was a very strong difference between the two characters, so I'll admit that she did a good job of that.
Still, nobody will ever replace the cute and downright lovable Colonel Samantha Carter, at least in my mind!

I only came to know the series just at the time the daughter, Ashley, was being taken from Helen Magnus. I've not seen any of the episodes before that, but think I'd like to see her return to the series. Kate Freelander is an interesting character, though.

I like the way Vampires are depicted in Sanctuary. The effects are good. The character reminds me of some biker people I know with his rakish ways. He's dangerous and charming at the same time. I like that in shows.
