I'd put myself at intermediate. Decent familiarity with most distros, comfortable with the command line - though bash scripting and many cli tools (sed and awk, I'm talking to you!) escape me. I can do a fresh Arch install to GUI environment in about 30-45 minutes, depending on download time once the base environment is set up, generally without referring to the wiki.

A beginner ... possibly beginner/intermediate - just refuse to let things beat me.

Ed: Lucky I don't have to rely on my knowledge of Linux for work or maintain a system with public access - otherwise I'd have to change my level of understanding in a hurry. Happy to stumble along at the moment.

I had to think about that and ended up voting intermediate but only beginning intermediate

I can usually sort out a machine I'm sitting in front of but have much more difficulty over the internet

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

My vote was "intermediate" because I very rarely ever ask for help and almost always manage to fix my own issues, but have never felt far enough along to think of myself as advanced.

Does it count if I'm googling the solution to any problems rather than "asking" for help on a forum.

Well, I count that as solving my own problem

Absolutely! Finding and implementing the fix yourself no matter where you find it is good work on your part. The fact that you know how to find those solutions without having to ask someone else definitely has some value, at least in my own opinion.

    I voted for clueless ...
I am happy I have finanaly found out how to install programs ...
Most programs are hard to config for me,
I've written some scripts ... but I suck at it ...
Same for the basics ... I just don't get it ...
an example is the meanings of " or { in bash ... if it doesn't work I add some till it works ... but I don't understand it ...
