ttylinux - incredible small linux distro
In the poll thread for Fav Distro for Older Hardware, a fellow mentioned needing something for a laptop with 8 MB RAM. In poking around, I came across ttylinux, a minimal distro including a 2.6.30 kernel in a few MB download.
I'm curious if anyone else has experience with this distro? I'm looking around to try and find info on building packages for it. I installed it in vitualbox, and it's quite interesting. Command line only, but with a few extra packages it could be quite usable. The main thing I'm missing is elinks as a text browser. It comes with retawq, which I'm not as fond of.
As it stands, the base install is only using 4 MB RAM!

I found if you download the source package for the distribution, it includes scripts to build a cross-compiler, which could be used to build packages for it. Unfortunately, the script is failing to configure properly, and I haven't been able to build the tool chain.

Thanks for the info. I'm not used to working cli only, so that would make it a big challenge.
