Less Sleep, More Linux
I discovered Linux about 2 weeks ago, and I haven't slept much since! I had an old laptop that was supposedly "built for XP" but didn't run it worth beans. I installed Debian, and now I am hooked! I drive my wife crazy, because Linux is all I talk about now. I even went so far as to install Ubuntu and Fedora on virtual machines on my Windows 7 desktop, just to see what they were like, and see if I would like them or not. So far, Debian is my favorite, but I am looking forward to learning more and more!
Anyways, hello to all!

I've been using Debian Stable since Sarge and I love it. Find a 1 GHz machine somewhere with at least a half gig of RAM in it, install PCLinuxOS on it and give it to your wife to 'play with'. That's how I got my wife hooked on Linux. After four years I'm still using Debian Stable (Lenny) and she's using PCLinuxOS 2009.2. We're happy campers.

Howdy and Welcome. I gotta laugh. I have lost more sleep from defragging, scanning for malware, updating software, rebooting, windows updating, disk cleaner, on my wifes Windows boxes than I have installing Linux, updating it, and getting online on my Linux Boxes.
Defragging can take forever sometimes.Linux Registered User # 475019

My wife and I both hate Windows. Her workstation(s) are Macs and Linux servers. We both run Windows (when absolutely necessary) in Linux virtual machines. If we had our druthers, Windows would not even be on the horizon!
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
