    Hello everyone,

I recently came across Linux Forums (again) and decided this time to join up and take advantage of having a Linux community. I started out using Linux as a hobby over 12 years ago and have a job in telecommunications as a UNIX administrator. I am working on studying up for my Red Hat Technician Cert as many of the applications for VoIP are running on Red Hat Enterprise servers. I don’t believe there will be much of an issue when it comes to taking the test. I have taken the RH033 and RH133 courses and have had many years of experience at work and as a hobbyist in this field.

The following are platforms I have used: Mandrake, Red Hat (back when it was for a personal computer), Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, Solaris (I know, not Linux) and Mandriva. I currently run and like Mandriva 2010 in all of my personal computers (I’ve been running Mandriva for a few years now). At work my time is spent across Red Hat Enterprise, Solaris 10 (Nortel’s version is SSPFS), and some really old crappy Windows servers that are always at a crawl anymore.

I am currently enrolled at Park University and am seeking a BS in Computer Science (about 6 semesters left). Anytime outside of working and college I will try to help anyone here as it will help me get ready for my certifications (yes, I included an ‘s’ here as I will be pushing on to the Red Hat Engineer Cert). To close, I would like to add I am excited to be here.

Welcome to the Forums. It's always good to have new users, especially ones who can teach the old timers a thing or two

Definitely welcome! You've got a decade of linux experience on me, so I'm excited to learn a thing or two. (Or three, or four, or...I could go on. )
