Hey Pengy,
First of all, welcome to Linux Forums.
In terms of free R resources, one of my favorites is a web-book that is put together by Vincent Zoonekynd. It is split up into different chapters. The root directory for the pages can be found here:
Index of /UNIX/48_R
Often, for people who are just jumping into R, the best way to do that is by learning how to put together different types of figures. One of the chapters "From data to graphics" does a fantastic job of showing you some of the options you have. He doesn't go into how to do some of the things to make figures pretty, but does get you most of the way there.
From Data to Graphics
In the end just playing around with data is how I learn the most.
Good luck!Linux since: 2001
Gentoo since: 2004
