    Which Linux?

    Hi guys,

I'm about to have to install a brand new server to run our phone system (running asterisk) and was about to start downloading the OS, but suddenly thought what distribution shall I go for?

For sometime now (about 5 years) I've used Redhat/Fedora, not for any reasons, just cos that's what I was used to.

I'm now thinking is Fedora the best one, or should I go for something like ubuntu?

The server will literally just run asterisk (probably Freepbx) as the old one is struggling to keep up, and therefore most distributions will work with Freepbx...

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

Only you can really determine which distribution is best for you. We get this question a lot, and the best advice we can offer is to try as many as you can and see if any of them grabs you. They're pretty much all free, so download away. Happy hunting.

For someone used to RedHat, I'd probably lean towards CentOS. Only a suggestion as something on your list to check out.
