    Talking 1.2 Petabyte HDD

Yes, it's true. be prepared for massive leaps in storage.

Michael Thomas, owner of Collosal storage, believes tht he can create HDD's with 1.2 peta bytes of space.

    Conversion rate's:
    1024 MB x 1024 GB
    1024 GB x 1024 TB
    1024 TB x 1024 PB

This would be a drive with no space optimizing needed, no deleting anything.

But it is said that, when it comes out, it will cost $750USD

It is expected to be released anytime between 2010 and 2011

Well, 1.2PB ~= 120 x my current 10TB disc space at 3/4 the cost... Works for me!
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

I can easily get by with a 30GB hard drive for my own use, so I'm always watching for the really great deals on the smaller drives as they are being phased out. It's hard to believe that someday the 1.2 PB drive will be considered small and obsolete, but hopefully I'll be able to find a good deal on one of them whenever that happens.
