Like the spammers, I wish the ads would disappear altogether!!
I actually can't believe you're not already using Adblock Plus. It's an extension for Firefox and there's an equivalent for Chrome now too. Install the plugin, restart Firefox and subscribe to the EasyList feed at the top. After that you're golden and all of your ads will be gone.

I'm more surprised that you don't like Gmail though, I find Google's ads to be the least invasive, restricted to a few text ads on the side and a bar above your inbox. Either way it'll disappear if you install that plugin. Did you check out using Evolution or Thunderbird to access your Gmail like I suggested a few weeks back? I've loved the move to a desktop email client. Pure email in and out, no web interface at all.

You must have gotten in right before the lockout.

I get the following message when I try to create an additional account:

Due to a recent increase in the number of accounts being created for abusive purposes we have decided to suspend new user registrations until further notice.

I guess I'm the only LF member that does not use Firefox. I just do not like it. I mostly use Seamonkey, which is a mozilla product, then Konqueror, and Epiphany for my website. I have never used my computer's email client because I do not need another headache! I think ( I'm not really sure ) that I have ad-block because instead of seeing all ads some get blocked by a gray window!

I don't use firefox either. Mostly chromium, with a little midori, vimprobable, and elinks thrown in.
