OK, famous people get talked about. Here's my two cents.
Dude was pretty foolish to engage in such widespread shenanigans. He should have known things would come crashing down with the most famous sportsman in the world having affairs with so many women. But I don't care too much about that, I just hope he gets back to winning golf.
But I swear he is missing some key points. I think he is doing more damage with his damage control than with the original affairs. He should just keep his mouth shut. Does anyone really believe his stories about how his truck ended up going over a fire hydrant and into a tree just outside his home? Or how the windows got smashed in? Two windows by the way. Of course his lovely blonde wife is completely blameless.
And now he expects us to believe that no-one in his "inner circle" knew about his affairs? Fat chance. He could not have done what he did with out some well paid help.

IMO,Having an affair with girl(s) is his personal thing. He is known only for golf.
No one sponsored him for not having affair with other girls, they sponsored/liked him for this golf first. I hope he does well in golf again.- Lakshmipathi.G

True enough, and I agree, to a point. It is his golf that is front and center. But image counts too. Not necessarily with me, but with the general public it does. And how you conduct yourself. I mean if it turned out that he smacks his wife around, or utters racial epithets, or whatever, then he will lose endorsements. IS having lots of affairs in that category? well for a lot of people it would seem so, especially in the USA.
I just find that his pathetic public grovelling really turned me off, more so than the affairs. Suck it up Tiger, it's really none of our business.

The problem is that the famous can't have it both ways. Courting the press when it suits them and crying privacy when that suits them.
Tiger Woods, rightly or wrongly, traded on being squeaky clean. When he was found to be otherwise he should have given an interview straight away thus removing the frenzy that built up when the media who quite rightly felt they had an legitimate interest were shut out.If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

michael phelps had pics of him floating around the internet of him hitting a bong, partying up and all that. There is part of me that says who cares, these guys should be able to relax, and I doubt that many people disagree.
The problem is that they have basically signed their life away for, yes millions of dollars. But more importantly they are suppose to be role models for young and impressionable boys and girls. Sponsors don't usually want to be associated with illegal or immoral activities. So they get pidgeon-holed into being something they are not: seemingly perfect.
So in conclusion: Difference between Phelps and Woods, damage control. You want to hit the bong, don't take sponsors that don't like it.linux user # 503963

Hitting Bongs. Screwing around on your wife. None of that stuff matters. Because.
If Tiger wins a bunch more PGA tourneys (and I am far from being a golf lover).America loves a winner.

LOL. damn, you are absolutely right. He wins the Master's in a couple of weeks and he will be hailed as a hero for upholding the American tradition of overcoming adversity.
I'm not the habit of blanket criticisms of the media, I think they do a decent enough job, it's up to us to use our judgement. But I do think thy have dropped the ball in a big way with Tiger, I truly don't understand the prevailing sentiment that he owes the public all these apologies and explanations. Yet it's an almost unanimous editorial opinion that he still needs to do more fessing up. It's the fact that this opinion is so unanimous that puzzles me.

personally i don't pay attention to it. i know ignoring it will not make it go away, but i just like to think that if i stop giving the giant media toddler the negative attention it is desiring then maybe it will stop. hey what can i say i'm a dreamer.
if the guy next door to me cheats on his wife, it doesn't make the news. who cares about that? apparently it only matters when you make the gods appear to be as human as we are is it newsworthy.
