quick introduction - its_really_me
Hi LinuxForums Members,
I just joined LinuxForums because I found that many questions I enter into g00gle are leading to threads in here. I'm not really a novice but also not the most advanced and experienced Linux user. Basically I am a network pro - so everything about IP, networking architectures, networking services etc is my core competence. I have OS experience with (in order of appearance) DOS, Windows, OS/2, Linux, MAC OS - lately I have WinXP, MAC OS X 10.6 (my main PC), DamnSmallLinux (DSL) and CentOS 5.4 running on various machines arround me. Here a quick summary on my activities
Network Services machine running DHCP server, DNS server, NTP server, PPPoE server, Web server, FTP server, TFTP server and a proprietary ACS (TR-069) Management environment based upon Oracle 11G.
I mainly look for hints about how to setup those kind of things and how to interpret error messages. Also, sometimes I need even some help on basic stuff, like how to gather sizes of complete subdirectories or how to add a new network driver into the kernel.
"Ping" me for any questions, I'll "echo" back
