    Arrow [two .txt editing questions]

    I have two questions:

    1. Can anyone direct me to a cool forum for/about text editing? I mean both editors like Word/OpenOffice as well as .txt stuff like .csv lists, etc (sth like txt-forum [DOT] com, or sth, would be cool)

    2. Is there any way to comment out portions of a .csv file? I have a Dutch-English glossary, and I have been keeping it in a .csv file with three columns, and was wondering if there was a way to add some info text via commenting...

    Thanks!

    Michael

There are a LOT of text editors available for Linux, for everything from programming editors to word-processing editors, and lots that do some of both. Myself, for program and general text editing, I like nedit. For word-processing type editing I like Open Office Writer. For complex book editing I like Adobe Framemaker (not open source or free) which I have used to create/edit multi-chapter reference books of over 1000 pages in length with lots of tables, charts, different fonts, etc.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
