judeancodersfront writes "Jonathan Corbet recently pointed out at the
Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit that [0]the Linux kernel team was
getting older and not attracting young developers. This article suggests
the Linux kernel [1]no longer has the same appeal to young open source
developers that it did 10 years ago. Could it be that the massive code
base and declining sense of community from corporate involvement has
driven young open source programmers elsewhere?"

The Above Article is from Slashdot- News for nerds, stuff that matters and as i

started reading it i realized that A) I'm 19 the Linux kernel was create almost 20

years ago. Not only was what i read true but when you first learn about Linux

there's ALOT to take in. So B) I would like other users to help contribute to

information on the linux kernel and help me and others like me learn more about the

code base and C) I'd also like to know where to start.. Mabee we could look back to

the original code of the kernel and build knowledge from there to better understand

and help the development of the kernel and open source software. Also i think it

would really open opportunities to learn about the C language so please feel free

to comment and post any thoughts. My name is David i live in Canada I'm 19 and i

was born one year prior to the creation of the kernel and i have yet to find any

knowledge or even be motivated to look at the giant wall of code i sought to learn

about and help young developers like me learn more.
