Back in 2002, 2003, and 2004, Mandrake (as it was called back then) was at the very top of the Page Hits Charts over at DistroWatch.com. It would be nice to see it gain some of that popularity again, but who knows what any new owners might do with it. Mandrake and Red Hat where my distros of choice back when I first started running Linux but I've never even tried it since it became known as Mandriva so can't really speak on it either way.

Whatever happens, I wish them nothing but the very best!

That would have to be PCLinuxOS.

Although personally, i never liked Mandriva for the simple reason that WiFi is always broken on it: what worked in Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian (stable), OpenSUSE, DreamLinux and even Arch Linux just never wanted to work in Mandriva.

And for all 3 releases of Mandriva i tested, it was the same problem; non functional WIFI.

I hope the new owner/s will maintain development of Mandriva.

I will try PCLinuxOS, thank you for the information Etna.
