I dont know if i can post this kind of stuff here, if not i wanna ask a moderator to move it to a right place or delete it if needed

To me it's cool. Whatever one wants to do, it's a free world to do it in.

However. If a guy/girl comes up to me. And he/she is riding a Full Dresser motorcycle and his riding experience is all of a few hours. I might mention he may be better off learning on something lighter and smaller. But I leave it up to him/her.

No you won't get busted up running a Linux Distro. But jumping off into the deep end for some people can be problematic at best. We are all volunteers here. We enjoy giving back what we may have learned.

I am sure "try this distro" is just done in the spirit of trying to help and to let the OP know that some one read and repied to his post. No body here knows all the answers to all Linux questions. But when somebody is stumbling about. Even a small responce is better than none. Being ignored because one does not know the answer will leave a OP into thinking no one cares.

This thread should probably be in the Coffee Lounge.

Sure is ok to tell someone to try a "lighter" distro but at least with arguments, what im saying is that there's people that's all they said "try this distro" and thats it no further explanation why

True... there are lots of users that think if they can use any certain distro without issues, anyone else can use it just as easily and they recommend it without attempting to address the actual question at hand. That said, I'm not sure that you can ever stop that behavior.

I have rather the same grudge when asking for help through forums (not here, actually). In one particular unnamed forum, they seemed to think that reformatting was the solution to everything.
    Grr, I say.
I can sympathize with taking the easy route and/or not admitting to knowing an actual solution, but I really would like an answer to the question I ask rather than a work-around.

There are those occasions where time lost trying to find a fix can be come a critical issue if you are running a production machine, or you only have a single computer and need it working now, so I can't blame anyone for taking the easy way out and doing a fresh install in those cases. Otherwise, it doesn't bother me to see them spend the rest of their lives trying to solve a problem if that's what they choose to do, and there is always that feeling of accomplishment that goes with finding a real fix for the problem at hand.
