As You Traverse This Life Please Try To Remember That There Are No Absolute
Mistakes; There Are Only Errors In Your Perceived Judgement As To The Likely
    Outcomes Of Your Actions!!!

Rather than renew my websites domain registration with Namesecure; I made the
decision to have Hostgator host my website as well as my domain registration!

On April 25, 2010 I received an email from Hostgator informing me that they
are required by ICAAN to remind me to verify my domain contact information
    and a link was provided.

The information for " technical contact " was listed to Namesecure which I
had assumed hostgator would have changed long ago when they got my domain.

At any rate I had to spend some time with back and forth emails to the ticket
system at Hostgator to get their address and phone number as well as the
password to my account on their websites domain page.

I corrected what needed changing and noticed that the renewal date was
approaching so I put a note on my calender to renew paynal.com at Hostgator
as well as two domain names at Namesecure on the 12th of May.

The Namesecure renewals were done without any problem but the Hostgator
domain page would not accept my Visa card that Hostgator deducts my monthly
    fee from. Strange Stuff!!

I called hostgator on the telephone where I was told I had to submit a
" ticket " to the sales department explaining my problem.

Each ticket reply was from a different person at Hostgator and each one it
seemed never bothered to read my intial complaint.

Finally, using capital letters, I asked if Hostgator was going to deduct
the $15.00 domain registration fee from my Visa card or not. I was then
informed that an " invoice " would be created on my domain page for the
$15.00 and i could pay it there! I went back to the domain page and used
Paypal to pay the $15.00 fee!

At 1:00AM this morning ( 5-16-10 ) I went to my website to see if a quote
I recently ran across was already up within the thoughts section.

Instead of my website; I saw a Paypal Phishing Page which caused my blood to
boil and my skin to itch like the foulest thing on Earth had been poured
    onto me.

I went to Hostgator's live chat using all of my strength to remain civilized.

The chatperson told me the invoice was paid and that I should go to the
domain page and redirect the DNS nameservers back to my website.

I went to the domain page and at the top it stated that the domain registration
had expired. The only page that I had access to was the page for payment of the
fee that I had already sent.

I went back to the " chatperson " and stated that I had received emails from
Hostgator and Paypal that the fee was paid and I thought that that was the
    end of it.

The " chatperson " then informed me that I did not get back to Hostgator
tickets to inform them that I had paid the fee So I Caused This Problem.

It Did Not Occur To This Chatperson Just How Much A Paypal Phishing Page
Upon My Website Brought On MY Urge To Inflict Pain. If He Was Standing
In From Of Me I Would Have, Undoubtedly, Been Bashing His Head Completely
    In With My Cane!!

This " Hostgator Technical Chatperson " then redirected the DNS nameservers
back to my website like he should have done in the first place.

The Paypal Phishing Page was not up for long; and I sure hope that No One,
besides me, was harmed by it!!

I learned at 2:00AM that Hostgator " farms out " its domain registrations
to Enom. I googled Enom complaints and saw that my " bunch of slimeballs "
estimation of that company is quite correct.

Although Hostgator is great for webhosting; I will be warning people about
Hostgator being in bed with Enom and what the result of that can mean to
people if they ever register their domains at Hostgator!!

Ozar, eventually I will send Hostgator a certified snail mail letter informing them that I will no longer be recommending their company to anyone because of their association with Enom.

I will be transferring my websites domain registration back to Namesecure at that time. I will continue to use Hostgator to host my website, but I do not want to have anything to do with Enom's Phishing!!

I did not have any idea that Hostgator " farmed out " its domain registrations to a sleazeball company like Enom. It made me quite Livid to see a Paypal Phishing Page instead of my website but I am thankful that I have been made aware of who Hostgator is doing business with!!

After I have calmed down enough to send the letter and transfer my domain registration I will be able to get past this. I have a smile on my face Ozar because again I failed to take a screenshot of the phishing page even though it has been burned into my memory.

It would have been nice to put up a parable on my website about the length some Internet companies will go to to take advantage of people.

I sent this certified snail mail letter to Hostgator along with emails advising them that I do not want to be associated with Enom.

Sales supervisor Chris Z. sent me an email response and indicated that only he would be responding to any further inquiries that I make instead of some new person ignoring me every time I contact them.

It ought to be illegal to set up Phishing website pages!! My letter is below:

    Dear Hostgator:

Early on the morning of May 16th, 2010 I discovered what appeared to be a Paypal Phishing page at Paynal.com instead of my website.

I went to your online live chat feature where Derrick La. Informed me that the May 12th, 2010 $15.00 payment of invoice 5448270 was still going through so my name servers were automatically pointed back to the Enom registrar!!

I was told to go to your domain page and reroute the nameservers but I could not do that because the only page available was for the payment that I had already made so Derrick had to change them instead.

I am quite happy with Hostgator hosting my website and I wish to keep having Hostgator host my website.

However, I do not want to have anything at all to do with Enom!!

I have requested and received the EPP key and forwarded it to Namesecure in a request that my Paynal.com domain registration be returned back to them.

My transferring my domain registration to Hostgator was a mistake on my part.

I should have left it at Namesecure and I would not have experienced any of last weeks protracted frustration, anguish, and humiliation attempting domain registration renewal at Hostgator!!

Please expedite my domain registration transfer to Namesecure without delay!!

    Thank You!!

    Respectfully,

    cousin lucky
