Newb In a real coffee lounge, i.e., Starbucks USA
never could get Linux to work very good until I found Fedora 7 in back of a used "For Dummies" book. Tried Ubuntu and Xubuntu and got them working, on old machine discarded on curb, but neither would let me install over Win XP with bad mouse port of old Sony Viaio.
But Fedora 7 auto-detected a serial mouse and reformatted the nearly full 15 gig drive and it was truly effortless to get the desktop GUI and so on. Now I am a bit behind the curve about what PCI wireless card to buy that might have the best chance of working with the least tinkering. Did just post a message in fedora forum about that.
